Under the guidance of a young Pediatric Ophthalmologist, Dr. Adil Mir, Al-Imdaad Trust, has conducted a pilot study of vision screening of children in many elementary schools and orphanages of Srinagar and Baramullah districts with minimal facilities/equipment. Projections from this pilot program indicate around ~45000 children from a total population ~6 lakh children may be in need glasses.
To reach every school and orphanage in the valley to screen children for vision disorders and provide free or at cost glasses to children who will need them.
